Join us for our September Community Potluck as we focus on the importance of seeds to the future of our food supply. Two terrific speakers will be on hand to help clarify the issues for us – Joel Fath from the Philly Seed Exchange, and Charmaine Rusin from GMO-free PA. Learn more about the issues regarding GMO seeds – what they are, why they’re important, and why having a diversity of seed varieties matters. Also, learn how to save seeds from your own garden – to control your harvests and help ensure biodiversity of our food crops. SWAP your live plant garden divisions with other gardeners.
If you can, please bring a dish to share, as well as your heirloom seeds for a seed swap and your favorite heirloom fruits and veggies – Joel will teach us how to extract and save the seeds from them. Feel free to bring any perennial plants you want to divide and swap as well. We’ll have plenty of time to eat the scrumptious food everyone brings, browse the Seed Exchange & GMO-free PA information tables, swap seeds & plants, and – of course – enjoy the company of our great food-loving community!
This is a free, family-friendly event. Donations to TTM are always appreciated. For more information, email us at info@TransitionTownMedia.org.
