Join us on Sat, Feb 1st, 2020, from 8:30am-2:30pm, for our Annual Planning Summit!
2020 is a watershed year – the start of a make-or-break decade for our climate. Come help us plan our activities for the year with a look to the decade ahead! Check out our blog post for details on some of the issues that we’ll be discussing.
We’ll be in the Parlor Room at the Media Borough Hall at the corner of 3rd & Jackson (301 N Jackson St, Media 19063). If you come in the driveway off 3rd & Jackson, the Parlor Room entrance will be right in front of you – come up the front porch and in the door you’ll find there. Parking is available on any of the side streets around the Borough Building or in the parking lot behind the building, facing 4th St. If you drive in fron 4th St (between Monroe and Jackson), please park and walk around the building to the 3rd St side and come in from the porch there.
The event is FREE, including lunch and snacks.
Please arrive at 8:30am to sign in, get your name tag, grab some sustenance (coffee, tea, fabulous homemade scones and other goodies will be available!) and settle in so we can start right at 9am. The morning will entail a short intro to Transition, a year-in-review describing what we accomplished in 2019, and a powerful visioning session. If you’re interested in hearing what Transition is all about and/or want to share your ideas on what would make a difference, the morning session is where you should be.
Lunch will be catered by our friends at Diego’s Cantina and will be from 11:30-1pm. We’ll be inviting some special guests to lunch to thank and honor them for their partnership and generous support of TTM over the years. Everyone is welcome to attend and eat delicious Mexican food (vegan and vegetarian options will be available).
The afternoon session, from 1-2:30, will be a work session during which we’ll start planning the projects and events we’ll be taking on in 2020. We’re expecting only those committed to working on these projects or collaborating with us on them will be staying for this part of the day.
You don’t need to bring anything, but given it’s a long event, you may want: layered clothing (it should be warm inside but temperature can fluctuate), a seat cushion, a beverage container for water and/or hot drinks, snacks if you want or need something in particular (we will provide coffee, tea and water, as well as some munchables besides the early morning fare and lunch). You should definitely bring your full attention and a commitment to getting a lot out of the event as well as to contributing your voice where it will make a difference!
Feel free to invite anyone else who might be interested in working with us. If you’re part of another organization with similar goals and vision, we’d love to partner with you! Please join us and bring as many others from your group as would like to come.
PLEASE RSVP to info@transitiontownmedia.org to let us know you’re coming and whether you’ll be having lunch, so that we know how much to order. If you’re only interested in hearing a little bit about Transition, what we’ve been up to, and what some of our ideas for the coming year are, feel free to just come for the morning and stay for lunch or not as you like – just let us know your plans, please!
We appreciate the time and commitment it takes to spend your Saturday in a workshop. We intend for it to be an inspiring and fun day and we’d be thrilled if you can be a part of it! If you have any questions, please write info@transitiontownmedia.org and ask.
