“John McCutcheon is not only one of the best musicians in the USA, but also a great singer, songwriter, and song leader. And not just incidentally, he is committed to helping hard-working people everywhere to organize and push this world in a better direction.” — Pete Seeger
We are thrilled to announce that WXPN’s Ian Zolitor, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies at the Keep Media Green Benefit Concert with John McCutcheon.
Ian Zolitor is the host of the much-loved WXPN Folk Show, which is broadcast every Sunday night from 8 to 10 pm.
In addition to his role on the Folk Show, Ian is also a performing musician, playing bass guitar, and a tireless promoter of local, regional, and national folk music, appearing at folk clubs, folk festivals, and open mic events throughout the Delaware Valley and around the country.
And Ian has roots in Media! He lived in Everybody’s Hometown for a while back in the early part of the decade and fondly recalls his time hanging out on and around State Street.
“I love Media,” Zolitor enthused when accepting the offer to emcee Keep Media Green’s Benefit Concert, “and I’m totally on board with a nonprofit organization working to defend my old hometown’s parks and greenspaces. Plus, I’m pumped to be a part of a concert with John McCutcheon, one of my heroes and a hall-of-fame American folk musician.”
Tickets for the Benefit Concert are selling fast, we recommend that Keep Media Green supporters who want to attend purchase their tickets ASAP.
