The Friends of the Swarthmore Public Library is pleased to announce its fall Book & Bake Sale, which will take place at Swarthmore Borough Hall, 121 Park Avenue.
The sale runs on the following schedule:
Thurs., Nov. 2, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Fri., Nov. 3, 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sat., Nov. 4, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Please note that we are extending our hours on Saturday.
We offer a wonderful, diverse selection of books for all ages, including hard covers, paperbacks, trade books, nonfiction, foreign language, picture books, dictionaries, and rare books. We also offer movies on DVD and Video, music CDs and some games and puzzles. The Booktique room features one-of-a-kind books for your coffee table and your rare book shelf at home. There will be a very large selection of excellent books about sports, especially football. Look for them in the upstairs hallway.
This year we are trying something new: we will be slashing the prices of the adult books by half on Friday, November 3. Booktique books and children’s books will not be affected by this change.
Saturday, November 4 is “Five Bucks a Bag” day. Regular adult and children’s books will be charged at the rate of $5.00 for a filled brown shopping bag. You may pick up your bag when you enter the sale. Booktique books are not included in Five Bucks a Bag, but their prices will be cut by half.
In addition to books and multi-media selections, the sale also offers a delicious array of home-baked edibles provided by community members. All proceeds from the sale will go to the Swarthmore Public Library, which serves the needs of a diverse community of readers, researchers, children, and citizens.
