Chester County Citizens for Climate Protection invites you to join us to participate in our program: Cooling a Hot Planet: What Should our Energy Strategy Be?
There is a consensus that climate change is an imminent threat to life on Earth. To battle this threat, we must convert our energy systems, move away from fossil fuels and reduce carbon emissions. On Wed. Sept 14 at 7pm, Bill Haaf and Jim Wylie will present two differing pathways for achieving this goal.
Please join us at the West Chester Municipal Building and bring your opinions, ideas, and open minds as we explore questions such as:
What role should the fossil fuel industry play in the transition to clean energy? Can we trust them to do the right thing? Will a fast transition to renewable sources destroy our economy? Is a carbon tax the answer? And more.
Both Bill Haaf and Jim Wylie are well known within the environmental advocacy network. Bill has a background in chemistry and led DuPont’s Corporate Product Stewardship programs for 15 years. Jim has a background in Electrical Engineering and Sustainable Development. He is currently the Chair of the SE PA Group of the Sierra Club, a sustainability consultant, and a partner of ‘Hybrid Cycles’ in West Chester.
