December 31 at 5pm has been set by the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) as the deadline to register to speak at the only hearings they have set, Jan. 23 and Jan. 25 on their draft fracking rules and proposed frack ban. And if you want to be assured you can get into the Hearing, please register now too because once they “reach capacity” they won’t admit more people. Please register to speak at the Hearings so we can tell the DRBC why we want a complete ban on fracking and all its activities in the Delaware River Watershed.
The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) issued draft natural gas regulations on Nov. 30 and set Public Hearings in 2 locations – Waymart PA on Jan. 23 and Philadelphia on Jan. 25 and a written public comment period closing Feb. 28, 5:00 pm. To attend or speak at the Hearings, you must register on line by December 31 and wait to be assigned a speaker slot.

The draft regulations propose a ban on high volume hydraulic fracturing throughout the Delaware River Basin but also would allow the discharge of frack wastewater in the Watershed and the export of water out of the basin for fracking elsewhere.
The Delaware Riverkeeper Network is demanding a complete ban on gas drilling, fracking, and all of its related activities throughout the Delaware River Watershed. It makes no sense to ban fracking but allow the discharge of frack wastewater and allow the depletion of the Watershed’s water for fracking.
Please register with DRBC NOW to tell them we want a complete ban!
