Chester County Citizens for Climate Protection (4CP) are presenting a special program on electric cars, electric bicycles and renewable electricity on Wed. June 5th from 5-9 pm.
Owners of all-electric cars will be on-hand to answer questions and 2 electric cars will be available for demonstrations. A representative from Hybrid Cycles will have some electric bicycles for test rides.
The Energy Coop and Community Energy will be available to discuss switching to renewable energy for your electricity supply.
At 7 PM, the meeting will begin with a talk by Andrew Levitt on the V2G (Vehicle-to-Grid) process.
Mr. Levitt is Consulting Project Manager for a Vehicle-to-Grid collaboration among NRG Energy, University of Delaware, Autoport, BMW, and EVGrid.
V2G is a technology that provides grid stability, lowers carbon emissions from the grid, and facilitation of renewables integration from the batteries of plugged-in electric vehicles.
The goal is to lay the groundwork for commercial-scale V2G, demonstrating commercial viability and establishing the required processes and regulations.
Mr. Levitt has broad experience on project management teams in the thermal, wind, and demand response power sectors, including work on construction, engineering, and project development.
We will also have an update on the solar panels installed on the top of the West Chester Parking Garage and how this is helping to reduce the Borough’s carbon emissions.
