City of Coatesville, Natural Lands Trust, and PECO are building a playground!
Five years ago, Natural Lands Trust launched an exciting new effort to improve access to and support for green spaces in our region’s urban areas. We began in Philadelphia where we have preserved more than 450 acres of open space, so far.
More recently, we broadened the initiative to urbanized communities elsewhere in the region… communities like Pottstown, Coatesville, and Chester. In Coatesville, we have worked with the City and other partners to craft and help implement a five year action plan for the City’s parks. You can get involved by participating in this exciting project!
We need more than 100 volunteers to help us give kids in Coatesville a place to play in the outdoors by building a new playground… in just ONE DAY!
When: Friday, October 7, 2016, 8:00am – 3:00pm
Where: West End/Patton Park, 300 Block, Charles Street, Coatesville, PA
- Volunteers should be age 16 or older and will assemble playground pieces, mix concrete, move mulch, etc. (14-16 year-olds welcome with guardian’s permission).
- Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and closed-toe shoes.
- Youth activities will be provided.
- Gloves, goggles, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.
Play is central to a child’s ability to grow into a productive adult. Together, we can ensure kids get the balance of play they need to thrive! Please join us and show that play matters to you.
