J&J Farm invites you to join us in celebrating the completion of our second high-tunnel greenhouse, which will be a “cool” house maintained by a gas heater to not go below 35 degrees Fahrenheit.
This will entail a gala celebration for this landmark for J&J Farm. The proposed date for this event is October 25, 2014, starting at 11:00am. Our hope that many reading this message will tell us that you will attend so that we can plan the event.
Food to be shared will be catered by Shermona Bates, the expert Creole Chef.
There will be a raffle with prizes. Buying even a single raffle ticket will put you on our list for the “modified” winter CSA. Our idea is that we will have a large variety of winter-growing produce, stored summer produce, and canned/frozen/fermented organic summer produce. Customers signed up will be sent a weekly list of what is available, with prices, and can select what they want instead of paying a large up-front sum and leaving what to put in their baskets up to us. After the October 25 event the nominal fee to get on the list will be a bit higher than the price of a raffle ticket, with no prize except the privilege of getting a weekly list for selecting fresh organic farm goods all season.
No one will be asked to do anything but enjoy inspecting our farm, eating delicious food, and celebrating with us. But we will have samples of farm goods including soups, frozen vegetables, preserves, etc., for sale.
Having a good time will make us here at J&J happy.
