Tour of First Hydroponic CSA in Media, PA!
e3garden and Transition Town Media partner for Happiness Week by offering a workshop entitled “Growing Sustainably In Your Backyard Using Hydroponics”
e3garden, a Media – based hydroponic farming venture, has recently opened a flexible, low cost year round CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) and will be hosting a workshop and tour of their farm system on Saturday, May 9th in conjunction with Transition Town Media’s Second Annual Happiness Week. Happiness Week is a celebration to highlight and remind us all of the factors that bring people true happiness, and gardening is certainly among those factors.
The day will begin with a workshop lead by e3garden President and CEO Eric Stein. The Media, PA resident is an Associate Professor of Management Science and Information Systems at the Penn State Great Valley School of Graduate and Professional Studies and past Media, PA Borough Council member and Environmental Advisory Council member. e3arden’s mission is produce great tasting fresh vegetables using urban farming techniques, renewable energy production, and sustainable methods. Their secondary mission is to provide educational opportunities to learn more about sustainability, the value chain for food production and urban farming methods.
The workshop will provide an overview of the hydroponics farming methods and insight into growing in your basement or garage. The workshop will take place at Providence Friends Meeting, 105 North Providence Road from 10 AM to 11:30 AM. Afterward, a tour of the e3garden farm system is offered from 11:45 – 12:30 PM. Meet at Providence Friends Meeting and the group will walk to the facility from there. The workshop and tour are free and open to all and you must register for both online at e3garden.com.

interested in joining.. I have a spa in Chadds Ford and I want to use the hydroponic veggies and herbs in Smoothies… and also want to put them in my own refrigerator????I am interested in learning also how to do it myself
