JEN KARSTEN is the Executive Director at Pendle Hill, the Quaker center in Wallingford. She holds a Ph.D from McGill University, is a Master Teacher in Ecology through the PA Department of Education, and is a senior fellow with the Environmental Leadership Program. She is a representative to the United Nations for Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, and serves on the publications committee of the Friends Council on Education. Jen has learned many lessons while living in community in India, Scotland and the U. S. She currently resides within Pendle Hill’s bucolic acreage with her husband Michael Gagne and their five year old daughter Aden. They are members of Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting.
