It’s a young adult program in Philadelphia blending cooperative living, a year of volunteer service in the non-profit community, and exploring issues of social justice. Participants test their idealism as they seek to deepen their insights and faith, while benefitting from local Quaker mentors.
Come meet Ross Hennesy, Coordinator of QVS in Philadelphia, and Maire Moriarty, a recent graduate of the program who worked with Friends General Conference last year with their Ministry on Racism. Both members of Germantown Friends Meeting, they will share their passion for advancing the work of social justice while living out their Quaker faith.
Part of the Providence Friends ‘Inspired Pasta and Courageous Conversation’ series, this event starts with Inspired Pasta by Francesco Bellini and lunch by the Peace and Social Action Culinary Team at 12:30. Presentation and discussion from 1-2pm.
