Volunteer leaders from the Sierra Club of Chester County and 4CP (Chester County Citizens for Climate Protection) have been working on organizing a Ready For 100 program here in Chester County. We want your input. We want your help.
Ready For 100 is a national campaign focused on driving the demand for renewable energy from the bottom up by encouraging our municipal governments (large and small) to pledge, plan and commit to a transition to renewables in all phases of energy: electricity, transportation and heat. Before it’s too late.
This RF100/Suburban Workshop will cover
– Intro – chat with Kassie Rohrbach, Assoc Director, Sierra Club Ready For 100
– What we’ve done so far in Chester County
– How – tools & examples we can use in our townships and boroughs
– You – and most importantly, how you can help – volunteer opportunities
Many cities and towns across the country have already taken the pledge to get to 100% Renewables. The first step to making a plan is establishing a goal and a deadline. Mayor Kenney of Philadelphia has committed to 80% reduction by 2050. That’s huge. Is it enough?
