African-American women healing racial trauma

A 6-week Soul Restoration Series Workshop with Erva Baden via Zoom

90 minutes weekly on Fridays from 5:30-7:00pm Eastern Time.
Facing and healing intergenerational trauma is a necessary step for reclaiming our authentic selves and stepping powerfully toward our visions of a transformed world. As African-Americans we must wonder how our ancestors survived 400+ years of oppression, violence to mind, body, and spirit, and systemized, legalized racism; from colonialist America, through the Civil War, through the Jim Crow era and into the present day. The traumas that have been experienced by our people continue to affect us in the present day. The effects may be subtle or overt. We need to recognize and heal from the effects of intergenerational trauma.

We need to reclaim the truth of who we are, our souls radiance, from the lies that come from the messages of racism and sexism. Those lies diminish our true, radiant, authentic selves.

We are not ugly, we are beautiful.
We are not dumb, we are brilliant.
We are not lazy, we are diligent.

We are not any of the diminishing stories that have been placed upon us throughout the history of this country.

In this program participants will:

  • Journey inward to uncover the erroneous stories we’ve been taught, and where they live in our bodies;
  • Do the work necessary to release and eradicate old stories and let our true radiance shine forth.

We do this work in a supportive community of women dedicated to our own healing.

Leader: Erva Baden is a contemporary shaman who weaves together healing modalities with compassion and humor to journey with clients committed to their own deep transformation and healing. She is a Reiki Master and has more than 25 years of experience in facilitating the deep emotional process and release work nationally and internationally in men’s, women’s, and mixed-gender circles. She has studied energy work, chakra healing, and core shamanic techniques, as well as trauma recovery and the intergenerational effects of trauma.

Financial aid may be available. If you are seeking funds to participate in this program, click to review and complete our Financial Assistance Application and a Pendle Hill staff member will follow-up with you shortly (please do NOT register online). Thank you for your interest.
