If you’ve never celebrated before, here’s why we hope you will:
We know that many children are spending way too much time with screens—a staggering 32 hours a week for the average preschooler and even more for older kids. The costs of excessive screen time are enormous—poor school performance, childhood obesity, and problems with attention are just a few.
Screen-Free Week is a fun and innovative way to improve children’s well-being by reducing dependence on screens for entertainment and providing time to get outside, read, daydream, create, explore, and play with family and friends. And, of course, Screen-Free Week isn’t just about snubbing screens for seven days; it’s a springboard for important lifestyle changes that will improve well-being and quality of life all year round.
CCFC is proud to be the official home of Screen-Free Week, but it’s people like you who make it a rousing success each year. We hope you’ll share your unique perspective, spread the word, and organize your own celebration—for the children in your lives, for yourselves, and for a better future.
Thanks for helping us put Screen-Free Week on the map!
