Recently, EQAT has increased the pressure on PECO CEO Craig Adams. Small groups of EQATers are showing up as Mr. Adams makes public appearances to respectfully call on him to spur the growth of local solar jobs. After two spotlighting actions in January, it is clear the CEO is taking notice.
This tactic relies on a strong moral grounding to directly confront a decision maker. As tens of thousands have poured into the streets in the last couple of weeks, the hunger for increased skills in spiritually-sustaining, effective action is clear. In January, at the kick off of POWER’s 100 Days of Faithful Resistance, we held the first in our series of nonviolent direct action trainings led by EQAT, Training for Change, and POWER. We have three more mass trainings coming up on different aspects of nonviolent direct action. These trainings are free of charge and open to all who are ready for bold and grounded action for justice.
Powerful actions are guided by many hands. Well-trained folks taking on roles such as Police Liaison, Marshal, Media Spokesperson, and others can make the difference between an unfocused crowd and an on-message group ready for anything. Gain skills in filling action roles to be strong and safe in the streets.
