IPEC: The Institute of Permaculture for Children
Being the change you wish to teach is the most effective way to model permaculture for children. Over this two-day workshop, we will explore skills and practices that can be applied in a multi-faceted way to your work as an educator.
This workshop is designed for parents, teachers and mentors of children ranging in age from early childhood to high school students. You’ll learn how to integrate permaculture ethics and principles into your school, classroom, community, curriculum and teaching designs. The workshop delves into the following ethos that is essential in contemporary education: I am curious to learn about how our relationship with nature’s patterns weaves people and places toward global healing.
The two-day class is almost entirely hands-on and experiential. Games, movement, and observation will be used to explore the topic of designing regenerative educational systems through the following tools:
- Childhood Passions as Tools for Learning
- The Responsibility of Diversity
- A Permaculture Classroom Model
- Mentorship as a Basis for Classroom Management
- Place-making for Community Support
- Zone Zero: The Center of the Educational Initiative
July 9 & 10, 9 am -4 pm, $160 course fee, meals not included. You’ll integrate permaculture into your classroom or community so that kids of all ages learn how nature’s patterns can move us towards global healing. Join us and register now!
