Bringing in Light —
Winter Solstice 2019!

Posted on October 28, 2019
by Maureen McC

Why celebrate the solstice? No matter what we believe, the earth moves the same for each of us. Celebrating the natural shift from darkness to light is a way to cut through all the holiday commercialization and emotional roller-coaster ride. Celebrating our common natural rhythm helps to bring deeper meaning to the season because it renews our connectedness with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.

We’ll take you on a joyful, moving, inspirational journey with a unique blend of spiritual celebrants, led by inter-spiritual minister Joni Carley, and a soulful band led by legendary jazz artist, Dave Posmontier. The Solstice Singers will raise a joyful noise and a wonderful dance troupe will make your spirits soar!

Come raise up your body, mind, and spirit! Join us on Friday, Dec 20th. Doors open at 7:30pm for registration and refreshments; program begins at 8pm. Be there early for the best seats!

Tickets are $15 (plus $1 processing fee) and can be purchased here. Please reserve your tickets early; they’ll be $20 at the door. Directions and parking instructions are on the ticket form and below.

There are plenty of ways to volunteer including singing in the Solstice Choir and bringing or serving food. Let us know if you have any questions or if you’d like to be a part of making it happen!

Parking instructions:

Preferred parking is in the Dupont lot at the end of Whittier Place, the College’s North entrance. You’ll then have a 5-minute walk to Clothier Hall (follow the signs). If walking is difficult, please park in the Field House Ln parking lot, the College’s South entrance. There will be a shuttle bus there to drive you to Clothier. Please arrive early to get to the event on time. The shuttle will start running at 7pm.
