Join Transition Town Media for a rich and spirited celebration of the Winter Solstice on Friday, Dec 20, 2019, 7:30–9:30 pm, in Clothier Hall at Swarthmore College. The evening will be filled with soulful music and powerful wisdom from different world traditions.
Why celebrate the solstice? No matter what we believe, the earth moves the same for each of us. Celebrating the natural shift from darkness to light is a way to cut through all the holiday commercialization and emotional roller-coaster ride. Celebrating our common natural rhythm helps to bring deeper meaning to the season because it renews our connectedness with ourselves, each other, and the world around us.
We’ll take you on a joyful, moving, inspirational journey with a unique blend of spiritual celebrants, led by inter-spiritual minister Joni Carley, and a soulful band led by legendary jazz artist, Dave Posmontier.
Come raise up your body, mind, and spirit!
Tickets are $15 (plus $1 processing fee) and can be purchased here. Please reserve your tickets early; they’ll be $20 at the door.
There are plenty of ways to volunteer including singing in the Solstice Choir and bringing or serving food. Let us know if you have any questions or if you’d like to be a part of making it happen!
