Come to the First Ever Green Blocks Sustainability Fair! Bring your family and neighbors to learn about what you can do to bring sustainability to your neighborhood!
The event brings together public and private sector exhibitors to provide “tools” through information, demonstrations, hands-on workshops and job opportunities for activities and projects to implement sustainability for healthier homes and clean and greener communities.
Some of the day’s festivities include:
- Stage presentations moderated by Christine Knapp, Director of Philadelphia’s Office of Sustainability
- Community leaders telling the story of Kemble Park, the site of the event, which is one of Philadelphia Water Department’s most outstanding green water infrastructure projects in its “Green City Clean Water” Campaign: a 25 year project to allow 85 percent of the City’s rain to be captured into the ground where it falls.
- A first come-first serve giveaway of reusable check out bags and recycling bins which follows a “Bring Your Own Bag” Rally at 1 PM to kickoff a campaign to eliminate single use plastic check out bags in Philadelphia.
