There is a lot of talk these days about committing to antiracism. We want a ‘culturally responsive’ community, but we are stuck trying to answer some very familiar questions. “How do we create an atmosphere where every member is seen and valued?” “What if I’m part of the problem?” “How can I avoid offending anyone?”.
These and many other questions will be answered in this dynamic, interactive workshop led by Lee Mun Wah. Through personal stories, diversity exercises, roleplay and other experiences, we will explore how our thoughts and perceptions have seemingly become inflexible. We will openly discuss what makes it safe and unsafe for members of our diverse community to truly be ‘themselves,’ what they leave at the door each and every day, and why.
We will begin this journey by viewing Lee Mun Wah’s award winning film “The Color of Fear,” about the state of race relations as it is being lived by a diverse group of men.
