On Wednesday, April 17th, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Chester Made partners MJ Freed Theater, Pennsylvania Humanities Council, and Widener University will host Light Up The Night, a public tactical urbanism event comprising a pop-up, outdoor art gallery, spoken word performances, local catering and more!
Light Up The Night represents the culmination of many significant tactical urbanism activities–including community builds, park revitalization, and beautification projects–all done through the Chester Made project in collaboration with local artists, leaders, and entrepreneurs. This FREE event will take place on the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge in Chester, PA. Let us know you’ll be there by completing this form.
“This project aims to connect Widener University with the surrounding neighborhood in Chester by using the pedestrian bridge on Walnut Street as a threshold between the two,” says Sarah Heyward, adjunct faculty at Widener and Light Up The Night art curator. “For the duration of this exhibit, the pedestrian bridge will provide a common space for communication by having both communities come together to celebrate self-expression, illuminate Chester artists, and connect in new and inspiring ways.”
