Candlelight Vigil, March and Speakers: vigil and march, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.; speakers, 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. We hope to have at least one immigrant story and Laura Boyce of AFSC to speak (pending confirmation).
Providence Friends Meeting Racial Justice group invites you to take local action. We are joining the American Friends Service Committee, faith leaders, and communities across the country for a week of action as we stand in solidarity with the migrant caravan and all who seek refuge in the U.S. Together, we are calling on the U.S. to end the detention and deportation of immigrants, respect the human right to migrate, and end the militarization of the border.
In this closing of the week of action, we will gather with candles and other illumination as we stand vigil in front of meeting and then march along the streets of Media in solidarity with the migrant caravan. We will return to Providence Meeting to hear speakers tell their stories of immigration and supporting the Love Knows No Borders actions at the border near San Diego. Our “Love Knows No Borders” week of action begins on Dec. 10, International Human Rights Day, and ends on Dec. 18, International Migrants’ Day.
