The Media Garden Tour will explore 5 of your neighbors gardens to give you great ideas and inspiration for your own gardens. Bring your questions, your challenging conditions, the problems you’d like to solve, and talk to gardeners who have solved them!

Because nothing inspires gardeners better than seeing great examples of beautiful, creative gardens, participants will visit a variety of gardens in Media Borough and learn how to grow beautiful, ecologically-beneficial gardens, whether you have a small space, poor drainage, too much shade, or other challenges. Learn how to attract beneficial insects and lovely songbirds, kill mosquitoes without killing everything else, and work with your neighbors to create welcoming habitats and vibrant ecosystems.

We’ll start the day at the Media Borough Pollinator Garden on Borough grounds at 4th & Monroe Sts. You’ll find information on a wide variety of plants that attract pollinating insects and why they are so important. You can also learn about the Protecting Biodiversity Group, the Shade Tree Commission, the Bee City program, and other initiatives that are helping protect open space and biodiversity in our community. From there, smaller groups will go out to visit 5 nearby gardens in turn, each one with their own unique features and beautiful plants.

Back at the Media Pollinator Garden at the end of the tour, we will be having other activities to end the day, kids’ activities and refreshments – a perfect ending to a perfect day.

The event is expected to be rain or shine but in case of really bad weather, Sun, May 21st will be a rain date.
