Wilmington in Transition invites you out to meet a world renown pioneer and guru of social change through urban farming!
Michael Ableman, food activist, celebrated author, and Wilmington native (who now makes his home in Vancouver) will be in town for just a few days, and he has graciously offered to give a talk, answer questions, and sign books for this area’s LOCAL FOOD enthusiasts. Michael is the author of Street Farm, Growing Food, Jobs, and Hope on the Urban Frontier (which will be available for sale at the event).
Michael will be joining us THIS THURSDAY, Dec. 8th, from Noon until about 2pm at Wilmington’s great, locally owned, and socially progressive book store – The 9th Street Book Shop (at 730 N. Market St., Wilmington, DE 19801).
I heartily encourage you to stop in and hear/meet Mr. Ableman. He is a leader with deep experience and much insight about developing local food production as a pathway for positive social change, and community resilience!
