Paris Climate Summit 2015 – A Success? by Richard Whiteford, Summit Delegate
The COP-21 Climate Summit in Paris in December, 2015, attended by 196 countries from around the world, was hailed as an historic achievement. Having those nations sign an agreement was momentous; but will that agreement achieve what is necessary to keep the planet from heating up to a catastrophic level? Richard Whiteford, lead delegate for the World Information Transfer, an NGO at the United Nations, will discuss the achievements and inadequacies of the global agreement.
Richard is an internationally acclaimed public speaker, climate change educator, writer, and environmental activist. He is directly engaged in current climate science with NOAA, NASA, the National Academies of Science, the Royal Society in the U.K. and the United Nations Environmental Program.
He has made climate change presentations to numerous institutions and organizations, as well as the Klimaforum COP-15 Climate Summit in Copenhagen and four times at the United Nations’ Annual International Conferences on Health and the Environment.
