Join us for an evening of deep discussion with world traveling monk and eco-farm projects pioneer Devamrita Swami as he takes us into the inner world of consciousness and challenges us to consider our options beyond the limited confines of our mind.
About the topic:
Rising sea levels, melting arctic ice and record high temperatures – the telltale signs grow stronger by the day, unveiling a story about the changing face of our climate. Yet there are those who are trying to influence change by making big adjustments personally in their diets, or communally by building urban farms and gardens. And then there are those who are sifting through the alarming statistics and wondering – is there anything I can do?
Climate change, the reality of a human-induced crisis, is challenging both the developed and the developing worlds to deeply question status quo. Fresh water is running out, and even fresh air is a luxury to many – news so stark that our mind rejects it and we dabble between ‘I can’t do anything – this is beyond me’ or ‘I already did my bit, don’t ask me for more’.
The experts inform us that climate change is here to stay – we can’t ignore it anymore, and neither can we resolve it piece by piece. Faced with this global threat, what do we do?
We hope for this to be a forum where environmentalists, urban farmers, and vegan-veg enthusiasts can come together and feel inspired for the often demanding job they do. Expect an enlivening evening of discussion, learning and vegan dinner for everyone.
The evening will be led by Devamrita Swami, Director of Gita Nagari Eco Farm & Sanctuary.
