Trinity Church in New York City annually sponsors a conference with inspiring and provocative speakers, which it livestreams at host sites around the world. Pendle Hill we be a host site for the 2018 conference allowing people in Philadelphia area to assemble together to view and hear the speakers and engage in discussion groups between the speakers.
The speakers announced to date include: Michael B. Curry, the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church since 2015; Michelle Alexander, author of The New Jim Crow, Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness; Pádraig Ó Tuama, poet and theologian from Belfast, Northern Ireland; Elizabeth M. Edman, an Episcopal priest, advocate for LGBTQ justice, and author of Queer Virtue: What LGBTQ People Know About Life and Love and How It Can Revitalize Christianity; and Jose Antonio Vargas, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and filmmaker whose work centers on the changing American identity (he is also an undocumented immigrant).
