Biogas is produced from various biomass sources through a biochemical process, such as anaerobic digestion, or through thermochemical means, such as gasification. With minor cleanup, biogas can be used to generate heat, cold, electricity and fertilizer. Dr. Thomas Trendelenberg will explain biogas production, its application in the US and Europe, and the role of biogas as a significant renewable, sustainable energy source.
Thomas Trendelenberg, a chemical engineer with a doctorate in technical chemistry and carbon technology from U. of Karlsruhe, Germany has worked in R&D, engineering, and management in Germany, France, Russia, and the USA. Here in the States, Thomas has worked in the field of lightweight materials with Schletter Inc., a solar mounting systems company in Newark, DE. He is currently working with BTS Biogas, a German/Italian Co.
