Join Green Building United and AIA Eastern Pennsylvania for an exciting presentation and tour of Sacred Heart Residences, project winner for the 2017 Lehigh Valley Sustainability Awards.
Attendees will learn about how Kitchen & Associates provided comprehensive architectural and engineering design services for this joint project between Sacred Heart Hospital in downtown Allentown, Pennsylvania and Pennrose Properties. Now complete, Sacred Heart Residences offers Allentown seniors a four-story residential apartment building, with 61 new units of a affordable senior living.
The project also takes full advantage of its proximity to Sacred Heart Hospital, ultimately providing a variety of on-site amenities and medical services for residents. The new development has been fully embraced by Allentown City Council and is expected to be a tremendous asset to the Center City district of downtown Allentown.
This project is an Enterprise Green Community and represents one of the 1st Multifamily Passive House High Rises to be built in the State of Pennsylvania.
The tour of Sacred Heart Residences will include a short talk about the architectural and system design process with a focus on the detailing of the Passive House requirements. On the tour we will visit the community rooms, mechanical spaces, management offices, and roof-top deck.
Light fare will be provided. Event is worth 1 AIA LU-HSW (certificate can be provided for GBCI self-reporting).
